01/02/10 - Jamies Hospital Visit
This is a couple of days late. On Friday 29 Jan, we had an appointment with Dr Ramsay of the Gynaecology Department at Peterborough District Hospital. All in all, it was a good appointment. He spent time going over what will happen with the next round of surgery. They will have to make some more small incisions so they can see what is happening in there. They will need to pull apart the bowel and the womb - as they are fused together. We also found out that the fallopian tubes are not closed as we were led to believe. This is a great sign. It will increase our chances of natural conception.
There is a slight chance that open surgery will need to be performed if they cause excessive bleeding. There is also the chance that an ovary may need to be removed. Dr Ramsay was very hopeful though, and was adamant that he would not perform a hysterectomy needlessly.
We are now awaiting a date for the surgery - which could take up to 10 days to schedule. Who knows how long after that for the actual date. Jamie stated that Dr Ramsay did look a bit like my pop-in-law. It may be a little bit awkward if she wakes up and calls him dad though.
