Freedom Is Finally Here

So, we finally got our freedom back today. What a great time that is.

Our Tax Disc - Freedom

April 9th = Dies Diei Horrendus

So, I am officially declaring April 9th as my horrible day.

We took the car in for an MOT and of course, as it is us and we have no luck, it failed. Here are the reasons it failed:

001 Rear (unable to locate rear seat belts) Statutory seat belt missing
002 Nearside front Headlamp aim too low
003 Nearside front Headlamp insecure
004 Nearside inner front Brake disc(s) excessively pitted
005 Offside inner front Brake disc(s) excessively pitted
006 Offside rear Stop lamp not working
007 Offside outer front lower Suspension arm has excessive play in a ball joint **DANGEROUS**

So, this is all jargon to me. I understand the headlamp and seat belt one. Apparently they can’t lift the seat to see if the belt is there. Talk about lazy. LOL. **EDIT** £27.50 to find all this out. I then asked the cost to get it repaired: £150. I about fell of my chair!

So, my question is: why is it ok to have dodgy brakes? Surely the brakes should be marked as dangerous too. Note to self: who cares if your brakes are knackered!

Also today, we went to Peterborough District Hospital so Jamie could have an endoscopy to see if she has coeliac disease. In a fashion never before experienced with the NHS, Jamie was done quicker than usual! Gasps go here!

Now we are home and Jamie is sleeping off her pain and sedation. I am busy watching The Apprentice.

I will get back to you when I am done, well maybe

A Long Overdue Update

Here are a few pictures from our day today (21/02/2008)

We have bought a new car. It is a Citroen ZX. It was named Bridget by a former missionary – Elder Jones.

We got 2 new missionaries in our small Branch. 1 from California, the other from Oregon. It makes a change from Utah. (To all you Utahns – that’s not a bad thing) It just means more places that we can visit. They are called Elder Jernigan (CA) & Elder Crittenden (OR). They are quite funny guys. They’ve already dragged me out with them. No rest for me! I was called as the Elders Quorum President about a month ago. It’s tiring work.

I have Jamie teaching me how to play piano too. I’ve no co-ordination so it’s tough. I am trying though (as i’m sure Jamie will attest to).

Other than that, nothing much else is or has happened.

Here are the pics

Owed To Bella

I use the word owed deliberatley. The time came for us to get a new car. By the time Bella left us, we owed her a new driver side wing mirror, some new brake pads, a new exhaust clip, a new headlight and a new passenger hand grip. So, owed is definatley the word to use.

We got a new car. We have a Rover 418 SLD Turbo. Not the one in the picture. Ours is silver in colour. I have decided to name her Shirley

Brum Brum Or Woof Woof

Let me start off this post by saying if I didn’t write I was under fear of being buried in a back yard with a dog!

So, it’s Wednesday August 9th right now and i’ve just seen an advertisment for Pixar’s Cars. It reminded me that I need to write about the time I went to see it in West Jordan, Utah.

I went with a friend of mine to see the movie and I highly recommend people to go and see it. The charcters are great. I particularly like the character of Mater. Mater is a tow truck in Radiator Springs.

Mater cracked me up, he was the character I most laughed at. I like the scene where he goes tractor tipping. Hilarious. I’m gonna include some pictures in this blog
