Chili’s & The Hot Tub

So, my day was OK today. Didn’t really do much in the morning. Went to Old Navy so I could exchange some jeans I bought as they weren’t the right style.

I came back from Old Navy and watched a couple of DVD’s: Wimbledon (Highly Recommended) and The Best 2 Years (A Mormon Film) – this one is funny too.

In the afternoon I took a bit of a nap.

In the evening, one of my missionary companions came over to see me. We went up to his house so we could pick up his wife and go to dinner. On the way to his house, we drove through the mountain. Scared me being so high up. People had houses on the tops of the mountain. I mean, why the heck would you do that. Why would you put yourself so high up? Some people are just born crazy. I’m one of them for sure, but not enough to build a house on top of the mountain.

We went to dinner at Chili’s. I had a sirloin steak and grilled salmon. Boy did that fill me up. I didn’t want to get out of the seat. I felt like I could just go to sleep right there and then. The customer service in America is 2nd to none.

After that, we dropped Bergstrom’s wife off at home and we went to Salt Lake Airport to surprise my wife to be (In just 9 days, 9 days you say. How do you think I feel. It’s crept up on me that’s for sure!). She was surprised when she saw me. She decided to go straight home as she was tired and I didn’t want to make her cranky.

Me and Bergstrom came back down to Highland to use the hot tub of the people we were staying with. Man, I did not want to get out and neither did he. I feel bad for him though as he has to drive all the way back to Salt Lake and I can just go to my room and sleep (Which, BTW, I didn’t – and I never went back into the hot tub.).

Well, he’s now on his way home and I am on here and decided to write about my day.

Finally Here

Well people, here I am – finally.

Had an early start on Monday morning. Was out of bed at 02:00, then on my way to the tube station by 03:30.

Got to the tube station with minutes to spare before my train came. there are way too many people out at 05:30.

Had to change trains at Holborn. Not a nice thing to do – all stairs, no escalators.

Got to the platform and on my train. I fell asleep right after we left and woke up in the Hounslow area. I got to the airport and hung around for 2 hours then boarded.

We were LAX bound.

I slept for about 5 of the 11 hours of the flight.

We arrived in LAX on time but were kept sitting on the tarmac for 45 minutes as our gate was occupied.

We were taken to a remote stand and bussed to the terminal. We got into the terminal at 14:10.

The queue for immigration was half an hour. It was worrying me as I had a connection at 15:10. I spoke to someone and they put me to the front of the queue.

I got through immigration and customs OK. I had to run to terminal 5.

I got there and was told check in had closed. After 5 minutes I was checked in.

Got to security who stopped me to check my baggage. I had to run to the gate. I finally got there with 5 minutes before departure.

Now i’m finally in Utah and have spent my first night here. I feel much better after having slept.

Have to keep my strength up as I need it for IHOP.

Goodbye To Old Blighty

Well, this is gonna be my last write from England.

The next time that I post from here I will be in Utah. I will be preparing for my wedding on May 5th.

I am getting married in Bountiful, Utah

There really isn’t much left for me to write on here for now.

So, i’ll say farewell until Monday – when i’ll for sure be in Utah.

Ikea

Anybody ready for a job in Ikea?

Ikea anyone?

2 Weeks Baby, 2 Weeks

So, it’s now 2 weeks to the very day till I get married. How I thought this day would never come.

I’m so glad that it is finally here. I can wind everything down here in England and get ready for America. Trouble is though, ever since I came back from serving a mission for the LDS church, i’ve forgotten the art of the one day pack – we get a call telling us that we are moving to another area in the mission and effectively have one whole day to pack.

So, due to the fact that i’ve lost the art of the one day pack I am now having to start my packing as soon as I get up today (What? I hear you say. I know, i’m already up because i’m posting on my blog). What I mean by that is when I finally wake up in about 4 hours or so.

The packing bit is the bit i’m fearing the worst. I’ve got to pack more than my family as I am going to be there for 3 months. They’ve got 2 weeks in the states.

I’ve also done all my shopping for the states. I went out yesterday to various supermarkets and spent all my money. I think that may be the contributing factor as to why I had a headache all day yesterday – the fact that I spent money! LOL.

So, I had several looks from people because of the amount of stuff that I bought from the supermarket. I spent about £30 on goods for the US. Oh well, it’s all bought now and out of the way.

That is the extent of what I have done the last couple of days. Eventful innit!
